JOE ANYBODY [DOT] COM HAS BEEN FILMING THE PORTLAND HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION [PHRC] IN “SOLIDARITY
FOR HUMAN RIGHTS AND DIGNITY” AND TO HELP... PROVIDE A VOICE TO THE COMMUNITY. I AM DOCUMENTING FROM THE INDEPENDENT
"NON CORPORATE" NEWS SPECTRUM (Portland Indymedia)
I TRY TO PROVIDE A VOICE FOR THE VOICELESS WHO REPORT AT and TO THE HRC COMMISSION AS WELL AS TO PROVIDE INFORMATION
TO THIOSE WHO CAN NOT ATTEND THESE MEETINGS.
THROUGH MY VIDEO RECORDING, MY INTENTION IS TO HELP BRIDGE THE PORTLAND HUMAN RIGHT COMMISSIONS ENDEAVOURS TO THEIR
COMMUNITY IN A TRANSPARENT OPEN WAY.
I HAVE BEEN DEDICATE TO HELPING PROVIDE DOCUMENTATION OF THE HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION SINCE THE PHRC re-ENCEPTION IN
2008
AND YET... ITS VERY ODD TO ME BUT THERE
IS NO REFERENCE OR A SINGLE TRACE ANYWHERE OF ANY OF MY HUMAN RIGHTS VIDEO WORK OF THE Human Rights Commission ON THEIR WEBSITE or ... even their Facebook Page? {which I do not use anymore}
YET LINKS TO THE CORPORATE MEDIA AND OTHER INDEPENDENTS SOURCES ARE PROVIDED BY THE HRC, JUST
NOTHING OF MINE?
IN THE SAME TONE, NONE OF MY HELPFUL suggestions HAVE BEEN FOLLOWED UP ON, THAT I REPORTED HERE IN AUGUST, TO THE HRC AS PUBLIC COMMENT TO ADDRESS THESE CONCERNS!?
THERE SEEMS TO BE A COMPLETE DISSASSOCIATION AND... I FEEL ZERO “SOLIDARITY” WITH MY HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION
WORK. ~joe anybody 11/16/13
9/2/14 - no changes - just new faces in the room, the wheel turns.
2/5/14 - was referred to as being part of the group and "not thought of as me being the public" by
the new chair, Sonji.
3/5/14 - Linda McKim-Bell (HRC Vice Chair) mentioned during the introductions that the HRC was grateful
for what I am doing. [Complement was noted and heart felt] {7:30 in video}
11/5/14 - my request for a door on Men's room is on
the "HRC follow up (Requests) agenda" and was being followed up by contacting the city parks department by HRCommissioner
Sam Sacs.
4/2015 I gave public comment at meeting on a few issues / still no changes w/ restroom door in city park or acknowledging
or welcoming HRC meeting videos as a link to the public
6.3.15 - I mention to the commission during "public comment" that I don't feel any HRC "inclusion" and there is a lack
of community notifications (agenda & meeting notes available) and the fact that there is zero reference to my recordings of
their minutes. !?
[watch out-take 6.3.15 video]
7-1-15 - No Agenda / No meeting minutes posted - I inform the commission theya re probably violating meeting laws - I mention
to them that the word Bigotry that they are suppose to be "not tolerating" is kind of what I feel them doing - by my voice
and the communities voice is being silenced. (video clip of public comment by myself)
8/2015 I was personally thanked for my video work and informed that it was helpful and appreciated by one of the newest Commissioners;
Se-Ah-Dom Edmo (I appreciated the acknowledgement and complement)

which violates Oregon Public Meeting Laws. They are aware of this on going problem. Paid staff is responsible.

/ community: and the paid HRC staff. https://youtu.be/PR6W7Ul6nYs

reiterated Michael Moore’s presentation
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvOlbnKW-Qs]
regarding the
criminalization of the homeless.
He said that criminal activity is a constant
presence and it is easier to
place the blame on
the homeless population.
He is concerned
with the
definitions of high access sidewalks as it is
being used in a broader sense to include
large areas of
space. He also had comments regarding
the HRC website including the lack of Facebook
and Twitter
presence as well as links to the
videos he records of the meetings. He mentioned
that meeting
agendas are removed from the website after the meetings
and suggested they are left up
longer.
And more of the same from the public comments portion of the meeting is in the following video from the 12/4/ meeting
This
next clip below is from Charles Johnson who echo's the social media information need for the community
An
HRC lapse of social media engagement opportunities with the public albeit a lag in time before any attention or information
may exchange between the community and the commission is brought forward by
another community activist to the HRC. ~ (Joe's analysis)
This page is dedicated to helping the public by providing current information
on what the Portland Human Rights Commission is doing.
In helping, bridge with the community, by showing &
sharing, what they currently are working on, or what they are engaged, in hopes that this page will assist those looking for
current information by providing links, agendas, videos, out-takes, meeting notes, handouts, and information
that is not obtainable otherwise [unless] you were at their monthly meeting.
